The pledge has been made by the Speaker of parliament Rt Hon AAA while launching the 15th edition of the rotary cancer run 2026.
The run is scheduled for 30th August 2026 under the theme: “Ggwanga Mujje”.
This year the run is targeting to raise 6 billion with expected participation of 100,000 runners.
The run supported by centenary bank will be hosted at Kololo independence grounds, and the mission is to complete the cancer treatment center at Nsambya hospital.
The centre will have bunkers housing the linear acceleration machines, advanced radiotherapy technology that offers affordable, world class cancer treatment with minimal side effects.
On the same issue the Executive Director Centenary Bank Yozefu Kiwanuka Balikudembe has said this time Centenary Bank contributed 500 million to support the construction cancer treatment centre at Nsambya hospital.
