PSG Crush Real Madrid 4-0 to Reach FIFA Club World Cup Final

Paris Saint-Germain delivered a stunning 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup semifinal, securing a spot in the final against Chelsea. Fabian Ruiz led the charge with a first-half brace, while Ousmane Dembélé contributed both a goal and an assist. Gonçalo Ramos sealed the rout with a late strike in the 87th minute.

PSG dominated from the outset, racing to a 3-0 lead within 24 minutes in front of a pro-Madrid crowd of 77,542 at MetLife Stadium. Despite scorching 33°C (91°F) heat and high humidity, their attack was relentless. Dembélé sparked the opener in the sixth minute by stealing the ball from Raúl Asencio and teeing up Ruiz for a clinical finish. Three minutes later, Dembélé capitalized on Antonio Rüdiger’s error to double the advantage, and Ruiz struck again in the 24th minute after a swift counterattack orchestrated by Achraf Hakimi.

Between the posts, Gianluigi Donnarumma anchored PSG’s defense, making several key saves and preserving his side’s fifth clean sheet in six tournament matches. Kylian Mbappé—facing his former club for the first time since departing for Madrid—started alongside Gonzalo García but was unable to break through a well-organized backline.

Real Madrid, still reeling from a 5-0 Champions League final defeat to PSG, appeared sluggish after their Florida training camp. Missing Trent Alexander-Arnold through injury, they managed just 23.5% possession in the opening 45 minutes and never looked capable of mounting a comeback.

Having secured their first European title earlier this year, PSG now prepare to face Chelsea in Sunday’s final, with the chance to become the first French club to lift the FIFA Club World Cup. Chelsea, winners in 2021, will be aiming for their second triumph.

PSG’s run to the final has already earned them between $88.4 million and $113.8 million in prize money and participation fees. Can they make history against Chelsea, or will the Blues claim another title?
