IGANGA. Presidential candidate and National Unity Platform flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi Friday had to postpone his planned rally in Iganga Town ,Eastern Uganda after security agencies including Police and Army blocked him and his entourage .
After campaigning in Mayunga District in the morning , Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine who has been crisscrossing Busoga Region since Monday canvassing for votes ,crossed to Iganga only to find barricades making it difficult to access the town centre .

In a post on his microblogging platform X(Twitter ) Kyagulanyi said “ Blocked from proceeding to Iganga for our campaigns by the military and police.Although two other presidential candidates have so far campaigned in Iganga Municipality ,the RDC ,RPC and DPC in Iganga have insisted that we must not campaign in Iganda Municipality.
They started by intimidating venue owners until we secured Oxford High School playground . This morning , these partisan criminals insisted that we must not campaign anywhere in the municipality” he said, adding “ This in addition to the long , dusty roads they’re forcing us to use.

Seeing that they came armed to the teeth to injure or kill our people ,we have decided to postpone our campaign in Iganga .
We hope to engage the Electoral Commission so they make it clear that I and the National Unity Platformare not allowed to campaign in Iganga Municipality while other candidates campaign there “
By the time of filing this story , the police had not yet issued statement to the effect .
