The Uganda Police have arrested Sandra Teta, partner of singer Weasel Manizo, after she allegedly used her car to injure the artist at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo. Weasel, real name Douglas Mayanja, is receiving treatment for a fracture sustained in the incident.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire reported that around midnight, Teta allegedly entered her Mercedes Benz and deliberately drove toward Weasel, who was standing in front of the vehicle.
“The car was used in the alleged assault, resulting in a fracture to Weasel,” Oweyesigyire said.Weasel was rushed to Mukwaya Hospital before being transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he remains under care.
Police have impounded Teta’s Mercedes Benz and detained her at Kabalagala Police Station on charges of “unlawfully wounding” the singer.Authorities are treating the case as a criminal offense, emphasizing the car’s role in the alleged assault over a traffic violation.
Teta has yet to provide an official statement.The incident has drawn significant attention, with fans awaiting updates on Weasel’s recovery and the investigation. Police are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the use of the car in the alleged attack.
