KOLOLO.Speaker of Parliament Anita Among was Wednesday evening destined to become the next 2rd vice chairperson (female) of ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) after taking an early lead over incumbent Rebecca Kadaga .
In a surprise turn of event during the NRM Central Executive Committee going on at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds , the incumbent NRM vice chairperson Eastern Region ,Capt.Mike Mukulu quit the race citing massive irregularities.
However , Mukula said he had thrown his weight behind Calvin Echodu, a youthful contender who was already projected to sweep the race by a landslide.

The Busoga battleground has finally spoken, and Speaker Anita Among and former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga have traded heavy punches across the sub-region. Unlike in West Nile, where Kadaga was swept aside, here she holds her ground—especially in her home district Kamuli.
