Her arrest has been confirmed by Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Rachel Kawala this evening.
Via her X handle, Sarah Bireete posted that her house was under security siege, before posting an update that she is currently detained at Natete Police Station.
Kawala said Bireete’s file will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for perusal and to determine the exact charges.
The seasoned lawyer and human rights activist, a regular TV and radio panellist, has been vocal on issues of constitutional governance in Uganda.
