Uganda Airlines flights disrupted as two aircrafts go for maintenance ‎

Uganda Airlines has announced a temporary disruption to some of its long-haul flights after two of its aircraft were taken out of service due to unscheduled maintenance.

‎In a travel update issued on February 20, 2026, the national carrier said the development may cause inconvenience to passengers, but stressed that safety remains its top priority.

‎“Uganda Airlines wishes to inform our esteemed guests that two of our long-haul aircraft are temporarily out of service due to unscheduled maintenance. We understand that this may cause concern and inconvenience, and we want to assure all affected passengers that their safety and comfort remain our highest priority,” the statement reads.

‎The airline said its Customer Experience and Operations teams are already working to re-accommodate affected travellers.

‎“Our Customer Experience and Operations Teams are actively working to re-accommodate all impacted travelers,” management said.

‎According to the airline, passengers booked on affected flights will either be rebooked on partner airlines or have their schedules adjusted to ensure minimal disruption.

‎“Rebooking on Partner Airlines, We are currently reprotecting guests on alternative carriers where available, ensuring you arrive at your destination as close to your original schedule as possible,” the statement noted.

‎It added that some flights may be consolidated or delayed to manage operational capacity.

‎“Schedule Adjustments, In some cases, flights may be consolidated or delayed to ensure operational capacity. Affected guests are being contacted directly via phone and email with their new flight details,” the airline said.

‎Uganda Airlines also assured passengers of flexibility in adjusting their travel plans without extra charges.

‎“Full Flexibility, For guests who prefer to alter their travel plans, or the option to rebook to a future date without incurring any change fees,” management stated.

‎The airline said it is working around the clock to secure the required components and technical expertise to return the aircraft to service.

‎“We are working around the clock to source the required components and technical expertise to return these aircraft to service,” the statement reads.

‎The carrier promised to provide further updates once the fleet is fully restored.

‎“Ongoing Updates, We will provide a further update on the fleet status and the full restoration of our schedule as soon as it is available,” it added.

‎Passengers travelling on the London and Mumbai routes have been advised to check their flight status on the airline’s website. By Friday noon , passengers in London who were waiting for their flight to connect to Entebbe also got stranded as a result of the changes .

‎“How to Stay Informed, We urge passengers booked on London and Mumbai flights to check their flight status on our website..,” the statement said.

‎Uganda Airlines apologised for the inconvenience caused.

‎“We sincerely regret the inconvenience and thank you for your patience,” management said.
