Uganda Airlines has secured more than 500 bookings for its upcoming London Gatwick route, set to begin on May 18, with flights scheduled four times a week between Entebbe International Airport and London Gatwick.
According to the airline’s CEO, Jennifer Bamuturaki, bookings have already been confirmed through to December 2025, with some extending into 2026. “Since announcing the route, we’ve received over 500 confirmed bookings. London is a well-established market, and Europe has a strong demand. A significant number of these bookings are for return flights from London to Entebbe, many of which have been paid for using credit cards,” Bamuturaki shared with thenewzZone.com.
The average price for one-way flights from Entebbe to London is approximately Shs1,619,558, while round-trip fares are averaging Shs2,714,155. Bamuturaki also noted that many passengers have already secured tickets well into 2026, a strong indication of the route’s appeal.
Uganda Airlines, which was re-established in 2018 and began operations in 2019 with just two aircraft, has since expanded its fleet to six planes, serving nearly 20 destinations. These include cities like Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Dubai, Johannesburg, Juba, Kilimanjaro, Kinshasa, Lagos, Mogadishu, Mombasa, Mumbai, Nairobi, Zanzibar, Lusaka, Abuja, Harare, and now London.
