Uganda Flags Off National E-Mobility Expo 2025 at NBS Headquarters

Uganda’s transition to sustainable transportation gathered fresh momentum this week with the official launch of the National E-Mobility Expo 2025, hosted at Next Media Park, the headquarters of NBS Television in Naguru.

The high-profile launch event was officiated by Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero Musanza, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), who hailed Uganda’s strides in adopting electric mobility and underscored the government’s vision for a green and innovative industrial future.

“We are not just hosting an expo, we are making a bold statement that Uganda is ready for a green industrial revolution,” Dr. Musenero said during her keynote speech.

Organized in partnership with Kiira Motors Corporation, the Presidential CEO Forum, the STI Secretariat’s Mobility Bureau, and several other stakeholders, the event served as a curtain raiser to the main expo scheduled for September 18–19, 2025, at the Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja.

The launch was more than ceremonial, it included a Cycling Challenge, digital campaigns under the hashtag #DriveElectricUG, and a call to action for both the public and private sectors to embrace electric transport as a pillar of Uganda’s future economy.

Next Media Group, through its platforms including NBS TV and NBS Sport, committed to amplifying public engagement with the expo through coverage, education programs, and community mobilization efforts.

The National E-Mobility Expo 2025 aims to bring together local manufacturers, regional innovators, policymakers, investors, and the public in a comprehensive platform to explore opportunities in green transportation. This year’s edition follows the success of the inaugural expo and builds on Uganda’s long-term agenda to reduce fossil fuel dependency and boost electric vehicle adoption.

What to Expect in September are, exhibitions from electric buses to battery tech and local startups, policy forums as Government roadmap on EV incentives and green mobility, Career & skills fair for Targeting youth, innovators, and engineering students, Live demos & testrides at the Kiira Vehicle Plant, Jinja.
