Uganda’s Minister of foreign affairs, Gen. (Rtd) Odongo’s said that Uganda is committed to deepening its engagement within the Commonwealth and advancing shared goals of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development
In statement issued by foreign affairs ministry stated that Gen. (Rtd) Odongo Jeje Abubakhar said this during a dinner hosted by King Charles III at St James’s Palace last evening.
The event brought together Commonwealth leaders, diplomats, and dignitaries on the sidelines of the 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM), providing a unique opportunity for informal dialogue and engagement on issues of shared interest.
According to the statement during the evening, ministers and representatives discussed key regional and global developments, explored opportunities for collaboration across the Commonwealth, and strengthened bilateral ties in a relaxed and convivial setting.
The dinner underscored the importance of personal diplomacy and the role of the Commonwealth in fostering solidarity, cooperation, and mutual understanding among member states.
According to the statement Gen. (Rtd) Odongo’s presence reflected Uganda’s commitment to deepening its engagement within the Commonwealth and advancing shared goals of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
He was accompanied by Uganda’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Nimisha Madhvani.
