
The ISACA Kampala Chapter has announced the launch of the 14th Annual East Africa Information Security Conference, slated for September 29 to October 3, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. Themed “Thriving in the Era of Disruptive Technology”, the gathering will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, regulators, and technology experts from across the region to deliberate on the fast-changing cybersecurity landscape.
Speaking at the launch, Maurice Taremwa, President of ISACA Kampala Chapter, emphasized that digital trust and accountability remain critical in safeguarding individuals, organizations, and economies in today’s era of rapid digital transformation. “Being cyber secure is no longer an option it is essential,” he noted, urging institutions to strengthen resilience against cyber risks.
The conference will feature masterclasses, keynote speeches, and panel discussions led by regional and international experts. Key focus areas include artificial intelligence, cloud security, and building digital trust. Attendees will also benefit from hands-on workshops designed to sharpen practical skills in emerging areas of information security.
Among the partners supporting the event are the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, NITA-U, UICT, Liquid Telecom, Seacom, Sentinel, ICTAU, and NR Tech Solutions. Their involvement reflects a growing recognition that securing digital systems is fundamental to Uganda’s economic growth and regional competitiveness.
The event will also serve as a platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. Cybersecurity professionals, regulators, business leaders, and students are expected to participate both physically and virtually, ensuring broad access across East Africa.
With Uganda increasingly adopting digital technologies in finance, health, education, and governance, the upcoming conference is being positioned as a timely intervention to address rising threats and chart a sustainable path for innovation.
