
Uganda is preparing to present a strong case for increased trade and investment at the upcoming Pearl of Africa, Uganda Business Forum & Expo 2025, scheduled for November 26, 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event, to be held at the Intercontinental Hotel is being coordinated by the Uganda High Commission in Kuala Lumpur which is accredited to Thailand in partnership with Thai government agencies and private sector business associations. It aims to connect Thai investors with opportunities in Uganda’s fast growing sectors under the theme Unlocking Uganda’s Business Potential: Prosperity Through Partnerships.
Uganda’s delegation is expected to highlight a broad range of investment prospects across agriculture, tourism, ICT, minerals, energy, manufacturing and logistics. Officials say the country will use the forum to demonstrate its competitive advantages, including a strategic location that offers access to more than 500 million consumers through the East African Community and COMESA markets.
Key areas set for promotion include Agro-processing, fresh produce exports, mineral value addition, renewable energy ventures, hotel and eco-tourism development, digital innovation and industrial park investments. The forum will also provide a platform for match making sessions, allowing Ugandan businesses to engage directly with Thai investors and sector leaders.
Uganda’s High Commissioner to Malaysia and Thailand, Betty Oyella Bigombe, noted that the Bangkok forum forms part of a broader effort to deepen commercial ties with Southeast Asia. She said Uganda is positioning itself as a reliable investment destination backed by political stability, vast natural resources and a youthful labour force ready to support expansion in key industries.
The event is expected to attract a mix of Thai government officials, private sector investors, chambers of commerce, financial institutions and trade support organisations. Organisers are optimistic that the engagements will open doors for new partnerships, joint
