Uganda Shines at Toronto’s World Travel, Trade, and Taste Expo


The Uganda High Commission in Canada has made a significant impact at the World Travel, Trade and Taste Expo 2025 in Toronto. Led by Ambassador Allan Kajik, the “Explore Uganda” exhibition drew hundreds of travel operators, tourists, and members of the public.

Showcasing Uganda’s Beauty
The exhibition offered a vibrant and immersive experience into Uganda’s culture and tourism industry. Visitors enjoyed complimentary tastings of Ugandan organic coffee and free giveaways of roasted coffee beans. A large LCD screen displayed Uganda’s breathtaking travel destinations, captivating visitors and inspiring future travel.

Promoting Tourism
The event provided an opportunity for Ugandan tourism professionals to showcase their services. Ether Birungi, CEO of Churchill Safaris and Travel Ltd, and Natasha Kamusiime, CEO of 7O7 Safaris, exhibited their offerings and established partnerships with potential clients.

Economic Impact
Jimmy Kigozi, Acting Commissioner for Tourism Development, emphasized the vital role of tourism in Uganda’s economy, generating income and supporting job creation. He called for continued support for tourism development initiatives.

Conclusion
The Uganda High Commission’s participation in the expo was a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities and Global Events Canada. The event concludes on May 31, 2025, with a closing ceremony officiated by the Mayor of Toronto.
