The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Moscow celebrated International Women’s Day on 8 March 2026 with a special event at the Ramada Hotel in Yelabuga, Tatarstan.
According to embassy’s statement released March,9 stated that the event brought together over 100 Ugandan women and girls studying and working across the Russian Federation.
According to the statement, during the celebration, 23 outstanding Ugandan women were honored with Certificates of Appreciation for their exceptional academic and professional achievements. They were honored in the fields including Aeronautical Engineering, Economics, Political Science and Philosophy, Civil Engineering, Sports Science, Nursing, Law, Medicine, and Operations.
“The event highlighted the remarkable contributions and excellence of Ugandan women making an impact abroad,” states the release. ends
