Police in Kassanda District ,Central Uganda are hunting for the defense secretary for Ndaiga Village ,Makokoto Sub County ,Kassanda District after reportedly murdering his wife during a domestic brawl .
The suspect aged 55 reportedly killed Jennifer Busingye ,48 –both residents of the same village. The couple had 14 children together.
Preliminary police findings indicate that on the fateful night of April 16,2025 while at their home , the couple developed a misunderstanding and locked themselves inside their house and started a fierce fight that resulted in the death of Busingye.
“ Our preliminary findings indicate the suspect stabbed Busingye multiple times on the face, the chest and on the head using a knife and he after fled the scene.
Unfortunately .the victim breathed her last while being rushed for medical attention,” Ms Racheal Kawala , the Wamala regional police spokesperson said in a statement
The suspect reportedly fled the home immediately after the incident.
“ Our detectives are using all possible means to get the key suspect where he is currently hiding and help us understand why he acted in a brutal manner to end the life of his wife ,”she said
According to the 2024 Annual Police Crime Report , of the 218,715 cases reported to police , 4,329 were murder cases ,but 326 were murder by stabbing ,which increased by 2 percent . Rwizi Region registered the highest number of homicide cases (356) ,followed by Albertine with 323 cases , North Kyoga (263) , Rwenzori West (232) while Wamala recorded 220 cases .
