24 Individuals Undergo DNA Testing in Bid to Confirm Ties to Prince Paul Kafeero

A total of 24 people have undergone DNA testing to determine whether they are biological children of the late Kadongo Kamu legend, Prince Paul Kafeero.

The tests follow the exhumation of Kafeero’s remains on June 1, which enabled forensic experts to collect samples needed to resolve a paternity dispute that has remained unresolved for more than 20 years.

Over the years, numerous individuals have claimed to be children of the celebrated musician, sparking family disagreements and public speculation. The DNA exercise is expected to provide definitive answers and bring clarity to the long-standing controversy.

Samples collected during the exercise have been submitted to the Government Analytical Laboratory and the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory for analysis. The results will determine which of the claimants, if any, are biologically related to the late singer.

Kafeero’s brother, Omukunja Mugerwa, welcomed the process, saying it offers an opportunity to establish the truth and bring closure to a matter that has generated uncertainty within the family for decades.

Family members and the public are now awaiting the outcome of the tests, which are expected to finally settle the question of Kafeero’s biological descendants.
