Finance Trust Bank (FTB) has secured the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, marking a significant milestone in its drive to enhance information security and protect customer data across all its operations.
The certification, issued by Interdigicert Kenya under the Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS), affirms that FTB has implemented a robust Information Security Management System (ISMS) that meets international standards. It is valid for three years from October 2025 to October 2028, subject to annual surveillance audits.
According to the bank, the certification covers the full range of its services including data centre operations, digital banking platforms, processes, personnel and all systems involved in delivering financial services. This positions the bank as one of the institutions in Uganda actively investing in international grade cybersecurity and operational resilience.
FTB noted that achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 demonstrates its commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity and availability of customer information. The bank highlighted that the certification aligns with its broader digital transformation agenda and reinforces customer trust at a time when cyber related risks continue to rise in the financial sector.
The bank also revealed that it has developed internal ISMS Champions across branches and departments to ensure continuous compliance and drive a strong culture of information security.
This accomplishment signals FTB’s readiness to maintain high standards in data protection while delivering secure and reliable banking services to millions of customers nationwide.
