URA sacks coach Isabirye and 3 others

Uganda Premier League side URA FC has relieved its Head Coach Alex Isabirye of duties with immediate effect.

The development follows the club’s 2-1 loss to KCCA on matchday seven.

His exit also includes the departure of Assistant Coaches Richard Kasule, Crespo Asiku, and Goalkeeping Coach Damba Jamil.

Isabirye, who took over the reins in May 2023, leaves after guiding the Tax Collectors through 36 matches, where he registered 17 wins, 9 draws, and 10 losses during his tenure.

This season, URA FC has picked up eight points from their opening seven games of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League campaign and currently sits 11th on the table.

“In the interim, Edward Golola will assume the Head Coach role and lead the team into our Match Day 8 fixture against Buhimba Saints on Wednesday, 26th November at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.” Partly reads the club statement.

The club will announce a new permanent Head Coach and technical team in due course.

“URA FC extends its heartfelt appreciation to Coach Isabirye and his departing staff for their commitment and service to the club, and wishes them success in their future endeavours.” the statement concludes.

Isabirye took over the mantle replacing David Obua.
