Police have arrested a 41-year-old runaway suspect accused of beating to death his daughter’s boyfriend when he reportedly found him at his home in Wakiso District on Valentine’s Day.
Herbert Musasizi was arrested in Gulu District on Friday, February 20, 2026 over the murder of Martin Bukenya, 18.
“Security agencies have successfully arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Martin Bukenya, which occurred on February 14, 2026, at around 8 pm in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Wakiso District. The suspect was apprehended in Gulu District and has been identified as Musasizi Herbert, aged 41,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala.
Bukenya was a student of Hillside Secondary School, Matugga and a resident of Kirinyabigo, Kawanda, Nabweru Division, Wakiso District.
“He was allegedly beaten to death by the suspect after being found in the suspect’s house with his 14-year-old daughter. The incident is reported to have occurred at the suspect’s residence in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District,” Ms Kawala added.
Musasizi is currently in custody as investigations continue.
