In early January 2023, a video went viral showing Queen Kaftah and others assaulting 15-year-old Pretty Nicole in Nsasa, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District. Queen Kaftah was arrested and charged with “aggravated torture” and causing grievous harm to the minor.
Following her arrest, Queen Kaftah was remanded to Luzira prison, where she was initially sentenced to three years in prison for the assault, which sparked significant public debate about the severity of the punishment. However, in July 2023 a judge set aside the conviction and sentence, ordering the immediate release of Kafta. ends
