Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to officially launch Tamini General Insurance, a new insurance product introduced under Salam Bank, on March 3 at Lugogo Millennium Grounds in Kampala.

The initiative was unveiled during a press conference held at the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) in Kyambogo, Kampala.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Tamini Insurance, Mohamad M. Omar, the new insurance model is designed to benefit policyholders by allowing them to share in the surplus generated by the company. He explained that, unlike conventional insurance companies where beneficiaries receive nothing upon the expiry of their annual policies, Tamini Insurance enables clients to share in the surplus—provided they did not make any claims for compensation during the coverage period.

The Presidential Senior Advisor in the Office of the National Chairman, Hajati Hadija Namyalo Uzei, confirmed that the launch will be presided over by President Museveni. She emphasized that, unlike traditional insurance schemes, Tamini Insurance is structured to cater to ordinary citizens, particularly low-income earners, making insurance services more inclusive and accessible.

The launch is expected to attract various stakeholders and members of the public interested in exploring this new insurance model
