Renowned Ugandan musician Bebe Cool, real name Moses Ssali, has boldly asserted his influence on the country’s music industry, stating that his presence is vital to its survival.
Speaking on the NBS After5 show, Bebe Cool highlighted his immense contributions to Uganda’s entertainment scene, spanning over two decades. He emphasized his role in shaping industry trends, including fashion, sound, branding, and showbiz, which have significantly impacted the music landscape.
“If I were removed from Uganda’s music industry, it would collapse,” Bebe Cool confidently stated, underscoring his belief in his indispensable role in its growth and sustainability.
Bebe Cool is currently working on his upcoming album, Break The Chains, which he hopes will serve as a bridge for Ugandan artists to penetrate the international music market. The album has already seen the release of two singles, Circumference and Motivation.
“Our industry has been stagnant for some time because we have no clear path to access international markets,” Bebe Cool explained. “For my album, we have a team of over 200 people from Uganda, the UK, Nigeria, South Africa, and the USA. We share ideas, and I am optimistic about the results.”
When questioned about his unwavering support for Uganda, Bebe Cool clarified that he chooses to speak positively about his country despite its challenges.
“I speak positively about Uganda not because bad things don’t happen, but because I want to promote my country,” he said.
With his relentless dedication and strategic efforts, Bebe Cool remains one of Uganda’s most influential figures in the entertainment industry. His Break The Chains album is highly anticipated, as it aims to elevate Ugandan music to greater global heights.
