Ugandan events promoter and political mobilizer Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi, popularly known as Balaam Barugahara, has pledged to intensify the fight against poverty and corruption following what he described as an elevation by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social media platforms, Balaam expressed gratitude to President Museveni, Gen. Salim Saleh, and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for mentoring and trusting him with greater responsibility.
“I serve a living God. I honor God, and I praise God,” Balaam wrote, quoting Proverbs 16:3, which says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
He thanked President Museveni for elevating him and promised not to disappoint the leadership or the people of Uganda.
Balaam said the transition of communities and parishes would begin immediately, emphasizing that he would work tirelessly to ensure service delivery and poverty alleviation programs reach ordinary Ugandans at the grassroots.
“We shall mobilize and serve our people parish per parish,” he stated. “I will not sleep until every parish shines and poverty is removed from our communities.”
The outspoken mobilizer also declared a tough stance against corruption, especially in the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and other government poverty eradication programs.
“There will be zero tolerance for corruption in PDM and all poverty alleviation programs during this kisanja,” Balaam noted. “No sleep until service delivery reaches every household and every community benefits from government programs.”
He further called upon Ugandans to support the ongoing transformation agenda aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening communities across the country.
Balaam concluded his message by asking for God’s blessings upon Uganda, President Museveni, First Lady Janet Museveni, Gen. Saleh, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, his family, and all Ugandans.
