KAMPALA. The Mufti of Uganda ,Sheikh Shaban Mubajje has expressed disappointment with few cabinet slots allocated to Muslims .
He said Muslims overwhelmingly supported President Museveni and NRM during the January 15 General Election but gave them few positions and nothing in the first five top positions.
“We thank President Museveni for giving positions to Muslims but they are few compared to efforts we put in ,we ask the President to look into this ,” he said
According to the cabinet list ,of all the 81 ministerial posts only seven went to Muslims .
Sheikh Mubajje urged Muslim leaders in government to serve diligently while safeguarding the interests of the Muslim community.
The Mufti also commended the government and people of Pakistan for their mediating role in the ongoing regional tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
