President Museveni’s young brother Gen. Salim Saleh, denied reports of being behind eviction of poor people from Kalidubi wetland along the Entebbe Expressway near Kigo to create access road to a multibillion hotel project .
Last week , the environment watchdog- National Environment Management Authority (Nema) demolished structures in Kalidubi wetland and several people were left yelling with nowhere to sleep.
Responding to allegations made in a viral TikTok video, in which a resident accused Nema of conspiring with him to demolish people’s houses and further claimed that he owns a hotel in the area, Gen. Saleh , who also doubles as the chief coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC)dismissed the assertions as false and cautioned against the irresponsible use of social media and freedom of speech.
In a statement widely circulated on various platforms, including Operation Wealth Creation social media accounts, Gen. Saleh said he does not own the structures referenced in the video and rejected any attempt to associate him with the disputed property.
The senior presidential advisor on defence and security also hinted at forthcoming disclosures regarding ownership of land and properties within the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA), a region comprising Kampala and the surrounding districts of Wakiso, Mukono, and Mpigi.
In his statement, Saleh referenced several government land management institutions, including the Uganda Land Commission (ULC), which manages government land; the Kampala District Land Board (KDLB), responsible for district land administration; the National Housing and Construction Company (NHCC), a state-owned real estate developer; and the Buganda Land Board (BLB), which manages land belonging to the Buganda Kingdom.

Dear Tik Tokers,
I have seen a citizen on TikTok saying I own a hotel in Kampala and in a wetland.
He alleges that I own the hotel with Natasha.
He then likes to link this property to the whole race.
This is private property.
What type of freedom is this?
Very soon we shall know who owns wat in GKMA.
“WOW”
ULC, KDLB, NHCC, BLB and Others. STAY TUNED.
