KAMPALA. The Vision Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Don Wanyama, the Joint Staff – Political Commissariat of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Maj Gen Henry Masiko, senior aviation figure Capt. Mike Mukula, and Buyaga West Member of Parliament Dennis Namara have been assigned number-based ranks in General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) leadership structure.

Maj Gen Masiko was assigned Patriotic Officer (PO) 085, Don Wanyama was assigned PO 086, Mike Mukula was assigned PO 087, while Dennis Namara was assigned PO 088.

“The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has appointed Mr. Henry Basaliza Mutegeki as Deputy Director of Mobilisation of the Patriotic League of Uganda and has also awarded the following Patriotic League officer numbers,” a statement issued on Friday and signed by PLU Secretary General Fadil Twalla read.

Other newly assigned Patriotic Officer numbers include Simon Opolot Okwalinga (PO 089), Patrick Aeko (PO 090), Jackline Amongin (PO 091), Jonan Muhumuza (PO 092), Obed Twinamatsiko (PO 093), Henry Mugarura (PO 094), Achia Remigio (PO 095), Godfrey Marshall Alenyo (PO 096), Richard Juko (PO 097), Muhammad Chepsikor Pirpinya (PO 098), and Fabrice Brad Rulinda (PO 099).

The latest rollout follows an earlier announcement issued on June 27, 2026, in which Speaker of Parliament Jacob Marksons Oboth-Oboth was assigned Patriotic Officer (PO) 059, Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa PO 060, and Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs Kiryowa Kiwanuka PO 061.

Other members announced in that rollout included State Minister for Health (General Duties) Anifa Bangirana Kawooya (PO 062), State Minister for Health (Primary Health Care) Dr Charles Ayume (PO 063), State Minister for General Duties Phiona Nyamutooro (PO 064), State Minister for Northern Uganda in the Office of the Prime Minister Beatrice Akello Akori (PO 065), State Minister for Public Service Lydia Wanyoto Mutende (PO 066), Paul Komol Lotte (PO 067), Kiryandongo District Woman MP Jovia Katusiime (PO 068), Denis Hamson Obua (PO 069), and Thomas Lomuria Abong (PO 070).

The numbering system adopted by the PLU draws inspiration from the historical structure of the National Resistance Army (NRA), which later evolved into the National Resistance Movement (NRM) led by President Museveni.

Within that system, members who participated in the 1980–85 liberation struggle were assigned numbers that later became enduring symbols of rank and authority within the ruling party.

PLU Director of Communications Andrew Mwenda stated that the rankings reflect each member’s historic role in founding the organisation and their seniority.
