Director Pamvillle Junior arrested for detaining pupils at school over fees balance


WAKISO. The director of Pamville Junior School ,Ms Pamella, Ntalo 46 is in trouble for allegedly confining two pupils within the school premises for several days without food or water over fees balance.


According to preliminary investigations ,the incident happened after the school closed for Second Term holidays on August 9, 2025. Mr Ntalo reportedly demanded that the parents of the two detained pupils clear the school fees balance totaling to Shs 1.5 million before allowing them to go back home .


Police say , despite repeated pleas from the parents — who promised to settle the balance before the next term — Ms Ntalo reportedly refused, insisting on an additional Shs 20,000 per day for each day the children remained at school.


The matter was escalated by the parents who reported to the Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU) at Nsangi Police Station , prompting the officer in charge to intervene. However, Ms Ntalo allegedly stuck to her guns and refused to release the children.


Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, said this prompted their officers to go to the school, rescued the pupils and consequently arrested Ms Ntalo along with two teachers who reportedly acted in a hostile manner and obstructed the officers on duty .


“ We have preferred a case of unlawful confinement against the three suspects and statements have been recorded from them as part of the ongoing investigation. Pamville Junior School which started in 2015 ,is among the best schools in Wakiso and majority of the pupils come from middle -class families . The proprietor also owns Pamville International Pre-Primary School Uganda .
