KOLOLO. The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has released the full list of winners of various oppositions for the party Central Executive Committee (CEC) ,the key decision –making organ of the party.
The new line up of leaders were elected during the party’s National Delegates Conference which has been ongoing at Kololo Independence Grounds since Monday .
Apart from the party national chairperson President Museveni and his deputy Al Hajj Moses Kigongo whose positions were ring fenced and no one contested against them ,other positions were competed for ,with some races like 2rd vice chairperson(female) highly competitive .
BELOW IS FULL LIST OF NRM CEC MEMBERS (2025–2030)
- National Chairman: Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (Unopposed)
- 1st National Vice Chairman: Alhaji Moses Kigongo (Unopposed)
- 2nd National Vice Chairperson (Female): Anita Annet Among
Regional Vice Chairpersons: - Eastern Region: David Calvin Echodu – 5,211 votes
- Karamoja Region: John Baptist Loki – 3,694 votes
- Northern Region: Hamson Denis Obua – 3,591 votes
- Western Region: Jornad Asiimwe Akiiki – 4,044 votes
- Kampala Region: Salim Uhuru – 2,411 votes
- Central Region: Haruna Kasolo – 4,194 votes
These will be joined by the elected chairperson of the Special Interest Groups (Women, Youth, Entrepreneurs, PWDs, Elderly, Historical, Veterans, and special nominees to complete the CEC set up.
Later today, Museveni is expected to formally close the week-long Delegates Conference, unveil the new CEC leadership, and be introduced to the National Conference as the NRM’s unopposed flag bearer for the 2026 Presidential elections. The party is also expect to announce when residual elections for new leaders of Entrepreneur League and Youth League will be conducted .
