KAMPALA .The mysterious dead of a senior military of the UPDF Brig. Tom Kikoyo Kabuye whose death was publically known on Sunday morning ,has raised many questions .
According to the family , Brig. Kabuye , the Assistant Chief of Defence Intelligence, was found dead on Sunday morning in Kikyusa Town Council, Luweero District.
“With a heavy heart I regret to announce the untimely death of one of our own members and great sons of Luwero District. Brig Gen Tom Kabuye was discovered this morning at Kikyusa Town Council. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” a statement issued by the family reads in part .
Brig .Kabuye, who until his death served as Assistant Chief of Defence Intelligence in charge of intelligence, was one of the most senior officers in Uganda’s security establishment.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and by Monday morning the UPDF and Police were yet issue an official statement.
Brig .Kabuye, who hailed from Luweero District, had risen through the ranks of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and played a central role in the country’s military intelligence operations. He is among the high ranking military officers lined to retire .
