Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has travelled to the United States at the head of a Ugandan delegation attending the New Wineskins Conference, a major Anglican mission gathering hosted in Ridgecrest, North Carolina. The event, which takes place every three years runs from September 17 to 20, 2025, under the theme “In His name the nations will put their hope.”
The Ugandan team includes bishops, clergy, and lay representatives, accompanied by Maama Margaret Kaziimba. Organisers say the conference brings together Anglicans from across the world for worship, networking, and strategizing on the future of global mission.
For Uganda, the meeting offers an opportunity to deepen partnerships with international churches, share local ministry experiences, and strengthen collaboration in evangelism and service. Delegates are expected to participate in workshops, prayer sessions, and mission forums designed to address both opportunities and challenges faced by Anglican communities worldwide.
Archbishop Kaziimba emphasized that Uganda’s involvement reflects a commitment to both global fellowship and local impact, with lessons from the conference expected to inform outreach and mission activities back home.
The New Wineskins Conference is widely regarded as a key platform for charting Anglican mission priorities. Uganda’s delegation hopes their participation will amplify the country’s voice in shaping how the church responds to issues of faith, development, and discipleship in a rapidly changing world.
