Vivo Energy Uganda Recognised for Transformative Blood Donation Initiative

Vivo Energy Uganda has been celebrated for its impactful community engagement, winning the prestigious Best Partnership Award at the 2024 Vivo Energy Group Awards in Cape Town, South Africa.

The accolade was awarded in recognition of the company’s ‘Fuelling Hope’ blood donation drive, a collaboration with Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS) aimed at addressing the country’s urgent need for blood donations. By leveraging Shell service stations as accessible community donation points, the initiative successfully mobilised individuals to contribute to life-saving efforts.

A Lifeline for the Healthcare System

Over the past year, ‘Fuelling Hope’ has significantly bolstered Uganda’s blood supply, collecting over 1,000 units of blood. The initiative has been instrumental in supporting hospitals and emergency care facilities, reinforcing the critical role businesses can play in driving positive societal change.

Rob Foyle, Head of Communications at Vivo Energy Group, commended Vivo Energy Uganda’s approach:
