Engineers and Lawyers were excited today Wednesday 4 2025 as SMS Construction Ltd announced the launch of the much-anticipated KAA Towers project, a modern 10-floor office building designed for one of Uganda’s largest law firms, Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA).
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on April 1, 2025, marks the official start of construction for the building located at Plot 41, Nakasero Road, next to the PPDA House. The project is expected to be completed within two years.
However, the team at SMS Construction is committed to delivering the project ahead of schedule, targeting a completion date of 18 months.

Impressive Early Progress At the first site visit meeting and groundbreaking ceremony, Eng. Edwin Bisaso, the Project Manager at SMS Construction, shared exciting progress updates.
“We officially took over the site on March 1, 2025, and I’m pleased to report that as of today, April 4, 2025, we have already achieved 6% progress—exceeding our planned target of 4%,” Bisaso announced. This early success is a testament to the expertise and dedication of the SMS Construction team.
The project will see a diverse team of highly skilled professionals from across the globe, including experts from Dubai, Lebanon, and India. Alongside these international specialists, SMS Construction is collaborating closely with talented Ugandan professionals, including scholars from Makerere University, Busitema University, and other leading institutions.

This collaboration ensures that the project benefits from the latest technologies and innovative approaches, guaranteeing quality and efficiency.
A Landmark for Kampala Bisaso emphasized that the KAA Towers will become a landmark on Nakasero Road and a symbol of SMS Construction’s commitment to excellence. “We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards and ensuring that the project complies with all relevant laws and regulations,” Bisaso stated.
The building will serve as the new headquarters for KAA, offering a modern and expansive office space for the law firm. Notably, the firm will occupy half of the building, while the remaining space will be available for rent to other clients.

The project holds special significance for KAA, marking their expansion as they approach their 25th anniversary. A Vision for the Future Mr. Jet Tumwebaze, a key member of the building committee at KAA, shared his enthusiasm for the project: “This is a dream come true for us.
The KAA Towers will not only provide a new home for our law firm but will also allow us to better serve our clients both locally and internationally.
We’re excited to see the project take shape, and we are confident that SMS Construction will deliver a high-quality building on time.” KAA has been rapidly expanding and has built an impressive clientele, including some of the biggest companies in Uganda, such as government institutions, telecom companies, banks, and energy firms.
The new building will provide a permanent home for the firm, which is currently renting temporary office space at the Insurance Tower.
Tumwebaze concluded, “We’re looking forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary in our new home in 2027, and we’re grateful to SMS for their hard work and commitment to delivering this exceptional project.”
