KAMPALA — Housing Finance Bank (HFB) used the third edition of Retrowave at Akright City to encourage Ugandans to think beyond entertainment and focus on long-term financial goals, particularly homeownership and family legacy.
As the event’s Platinum Sponsor, the bank took advantage of the gathering to engage guests on the importance of owning a home and planning for the future. The event drew hundreds of attendees from different age groups who came together to enjoy classic music, relive memorable moments and share experiences across generations.
HFB said the occasion provided an ideal setting to discuss how homes can become places where families build memories, celebrate achievements and secure a foundation for future generations.
Hellen Musubika, Acting Head of Mortgage and Consumer Banking at Housing Finance Bank, said many people aspire to own homes in organised communities such as Akright City but often believe the goal is unattainable.
She explained that the bank offers financing options that can help customers buy, build or improve homes, making quality housing more accessible. Musubika added that the bank also supports existing homeowners who wish to complete unfinished houses, renovate properties, expand their homes or acquire additional land for future development.
Recognising that many Ugandans build gradually, she highlighted the bank’s incremental housing loan product, which allows customers to construct homes in phases according to their financial capacity.
“Our goal is to provide practical and flexible financial solutions that support customers at every stage of their homeownership journey. A completed home is not just a personal achievement; it is an investment in future generations,” Musubika said.
Retrowave Operations Manager Arthur Jagwer said the partnership with HFB added a broader social message to the event.
“Retrowave is known for celebrating timeless music and shared memories, but this year we wanted the experience to encourage people to think about their future as well. Working with Housing Finance Bank helped reinforce the idea that homeownership is one of the most meaningful legacies a person can leave behind,” Jagwer said.
Through its participation, Housing Finance Bank said it aims to be part of conversations that motivate Ugandans to take concrete steps toward achieving their housing aspirations.
As guests enjoyed music that celebrated memories of the past, the bank encouraged them to consider the decisions they can make today to build a secure and lasting future.
The third edition of Retrowave ended on a high note, leaving attendees with memorable experiences and growing anticipation for the next edition of the event.
