Kampala Capital City Authority has elected John Mary Ssebuufu as the Speaker of the 4th council to be deputized by Namazzi Olive Kagobola with 20 votes and called for Ubuntu during their deliberations.
Johnmary Ssebuufu is a councilor representing Nakawa one and a former Executive Secretary in charge of Works and Engineering under the outgoing Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago. He has called for discipline, Ubuntu while deliberating for the people of Kampala for genuine service delivery, to the Executive Director Ssebuufu has urged her office to consider effective facilitation of council for the good of the people of Kampala.
His Lordship Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo in his message has called upon the newly elected Speaker John Mary Ssebuufu to consider the alignment of a stakeholders engagement meeting to pace a clear path of service delivery for the people of Kampala. Olive Betty Namazi, Saalongo Kalule Alii James Mubiru, among other council members have all called for unity tolerance among each other and aim at serving better for Kampala.
Deputy Speaker Olive Betty Namazi has called for attention towards the elevation of the status of a girl child and women I’m the city. Balimwezo has further warned council against corruption citing that the outgoing council will forever be known for being most corrupt
