Senior Presidential Advisor on Service Delivery Yiga Kisa Kyamukama has dismissed reports that he has been relieved of his duties, describing the claims as false and alleging that they are being spread by his critics within government.

Kyamukama made the remarks while addressing a press conference at his office in Lungujja, Kampala.

He said the reports followed his recent involvement in efforts to combat corruption in northern Uganda, including an incident in which he intercepted a police officer whom he accused of overloading a government vehicle.

Kyamukama maintained that, apart from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who appointed him, no other government official has the authority to dismiss him from his position.

He also warned former Minister for Disaster Preparedness against what he described as unnecessary attacks directed at him, arguing that such actions should not interfere with his efforts to implement the President’s initiative against corruption.

In a related development, Kyamukama said he would not be intimidated by alleged threats from some government officials to publish compromising personal material about him on social media.

He said such threats would not deter him from carrying out his duties, maintaining that he would continue with his work despite what he described as attempts to intimidate him.
