Ministry of health partner with a NGO to offer “Oxygen as service model” to health centres.

The Ministry of Health through its partnership with PREO2 Foundation has made oxygen access and reliability possible in several Health Centers IVs and General Hospitals across the country.

In statement issued by the ministry of health on Friday, stated that “This “Oxygen as a Service” model has reduced oxygen related referrals and mortality rates at General Hospitals and Health Centers IVs like Serere, Atutur and Tororo.

According to the statement PREO2 Foundation partners with Ministries of Health to strengthen reliable oxygen access at decentralized health facilities through an innovative Oxygen-as-a-Service (O₂aaS) model.

“The initiative addresses long-standing gaps in oxygen availability, equipment functionality, maintenance systems, and clinical use particularly at lower-level facilities where preventable mortality from hypoxemia remains high,” According to the press statement. Ends.
