
MTN Uganda has unveiled a new mobile money campaign, “Power to Win,” that will see customers walk away with weekly cash prizes of Shs10 million.
The promotion, launched at Akamwesi Mall in Kyebando, builds on the telecom giant’s broader “Power to Be More” initiative, which encourages Ugandans to embrace the convenience and empowerment of digital financial services. At the launch, the first lucky customer was awarded Shs10 million, marking the beginning of what is expected to be an exciting series of weekly giveaways across the country.
Under the campaign, customers stand a chance to win by carrying out everyday transactions on MTN Momo. Activities such as paying bills, borrowing, or investing through the platform will automatically enter them into the weekly draws. According to MTN, this approach not only rewards loyal users but also reinforces financial inclusion by promoting the use of mobile money for more than just sending and receiving cash.
Company officials confirmed that the handover ceremonies will rotate across regions, giving customers nationwide visibility and equal opportunity to win. The campaign is scheduled to run until the end of the year, offering millions of shillings in total rewards.
MTN says “Power to Win” is more than a prize draw, it is a way to celebrate the growing community of Ugandans who rely on Momo to manage their finances safely and efficiently.
