Parents, teachers, and Primary Seven candidates of Kampala Parents School in Naguru have come together in a special dedication service to seek God’s guidance and blessings ahead of the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which begin early next month.

The interfaith service, held at the school campus, brought Christian and Muslim leaders together to pray for academic excellence, protection, and discipline as learners finalize their revision. The event also highlighted the importance of parental support and collective effort in shaping the future of the children.

Preaching during the service, the Assistant Bishop of the Church of Uganda, Rt. Rev. Jackson Fredrick Baalwa, encouraged candidates to remain committed to their studies during the final stretch of preparation. He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained through the years and remain calm as they approach their final papers.

He emphasized that success is a result of determination and spiritual strength.
“Success comes with discipline, hard work and trust in God,” Bishop Baalwa said. “May the Almighty protect you from any evil and help you excel in all your papers as you transition to the next level.”

Representing the Muslim community, the school’s Imam, Sheikh Ishaaq Mutengu, reminded learners that education remains a powerful tool through which they can honor God and change their lives for the better. He quoted verses from the Holy Qur’an that encourage pursuit of knowledge, urging parents to maintain guidance and monitoring of their children even after examinations.

“Both boys and girls must strive for knowledge,” Sheikh Mutengu noted. “Parents must never abandon their responsibility to nurture and guide their children if we are to produce responsible citizens.”

The Principal, Mrs. Daphine Kato, applauded parents and guardians for their consistent involvement in the learners’ education journey. She said the support demonstrated throughout the year strengthens learners emotionally and academically, enabling them to perform with confidence.

“You play a vital role in shaping these bright minds,” she said. “I also appreciate our teachers for their tireless effort and professionalism. Together, we are building strong foundations for the future.”

The Chairman of Kampala Parents School, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, officially dedicated the P.7 candidates to God and prayed for their success. He assured parents of the school’s continuous commitment to academic excellence and child welfare.

Dr. Ruparelia encouraged candidates to approach the exams with courage, noting that Kampala Parents School has a strong track record of exceptional PLE performance.

“We believe you are well prepared and ready,” he said. “Go and make us proud.”

The colorful ceremony featured scripture readings, motivational messages, worship, and blessings from both faith leaders. Learners pledged to remain focused, disciplined, and prayerful during the examination period.

The PLE is a crucial national assessment administered by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), determining learners’ progression to secondary education. Nationwide, thousands of Primary Seven pupils are finalizing preparations as the exams officially kick off in early November 2025.
