MASAKA.The Titular Head of the Muslim community in Uganda, Prince Kasim Nakibinge Kakungulu, has donated Shs10 million to support Muslim activities in Masaka Muslim District.
Nakibinge handed over the Shs10 million cheque during celebrations to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) at Masaka Liberation Square on Tuesday.
The contribution is intended to support the office of the Supreme Khadhi in facilitating and strengthening Muslim programmes and activities in the district.
Speaking during the ceremony, Nakibinge said the contribution was part of his efforts to support Muslim leadership and promote the development of the Muslim community in the region.
The donation was received on behalf of the office of the Supreme Mufti, with Muslim leaders in Masaka welcoming it as a boost to their programmes and activities.
The cheque handover came as Muslims from different parts of Uganda gathered in Masaka to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
Muslim leaders in Masaka said the contribution would strengthen programmes aimed at improving the welfare and development of the Muslim community in the district.
