Stanbic Bank Rewards Loyal Customers with Cash in ‘Kya Double with SupaDupa’ Campaign

KAMPALA — Stanbic Bank Uganda has unveiled the first winners of its ongoing Kya Double with SupaDupa campaign, a customer rewards initiative aimed at promoting digital banking and rewarding active account holders. The campaign, launched in June and set to run through December, will see UGX 100 million distributed in cash prizes to lucky participants.

Among the early winners is Akugizibwe Annet Mbabazi, who received a UGX 1.2 million cash prize. Overwhelmed with joy, Mbabazi expressed gratitude, highlighting the transparency of the campaign.

“I’ve seen people win in other promotions and always thought it wasn’t real. Today, I’m a believer. This prize has come at the perfect time—I was struggling to pay my child’s school fees. Stanbic has truly answered my prayer,” she said.

So far, the bank has disbursed nearly UGX 25 million in cash rewards to customers who consistently transact and save through Stanbic’s digital platforms.

Sarah Nankumba, Manager of Stanbic’s Acacia Branch, emphasized that the campaign aligns with the bank’s long-standing purpose: “Uganda is our home, and our growth is driven by supporting our people.” She encouraged more Ugandans to participate, noting that rewards are open to all who maintain active accounts and regularly transact.

To ensure accessibility, Stanbic has simplified the account opening process, removing traditional barriers like paperwork and branch visits.

“Anyone can open a Stanbic account digitally in less than five minutes using only their National ID. Just download our app, scan the QR code on our website, or dial *290# to get started. It’s completely free,” Nankumba said.

Israel Arinaitwe, Head of Personal Banking at Stanbic, said the Kya Double with SupaDupa campaign was created in direct response to customer feedback.

“Clients asked for faster, simpler, and more rewarding banking. This campaign delivers exactly that—digital convenience paired with real financial rewards,” he said.

Arinaitwe also revealed new digital lending options available through the bank’s platforms. Eligible customers can access instant loans of up to UGX 5 million anytime, while high-value digital loans of up to UGX 250 million can be approved in just two minutes.

“Banking should be instant, paperless, and meaningful. This campaign is about more than just rewards—it’s about creating a better everyday banking experience,” he added.
