The government has been asked to embrace E-Vehicles to address the increasing fuel costs

The Boda boda union is concerned that the increasing fuel rates are affecting their industry and have advised riders to opt to E-bikes.

The appeal has been made by the Chairman of the United Boda boda Riders corperative Union Frank Mawejje during appress briefing held at the Union Boda offices in Kansanga Kampala.

He says that this is a tentative alternative to the increasing fuel price rates he has urged government to work with riders to subsidize electricity for reduced transport costs.

Fuel prices have increased between 5,000 to 7,000, especially in the rural areas. He says that as government subsidizes power for indurstries and factories they can also be addressed to further reduce the swap costs.

He has called upon the Union transport alliance to up there voice and seek for the introduction of E-Vehicles targeting public transport as a way of addressing the increasing transport costs due to increasing fuel prices being caused by the war in the Middle East.

Mawejje says that Spiro Uganda has invested in the indurstry by creating more sharp centers, and service stations this is a positive move towards job creation he cites a creation of 7000 jobs on sharp centers alone and more on service stations.
