KAMPALA — Victoria University has added a newly branded bus to its transport fleet as it prepares to celebrate its 10th graduation ceremony scheduled for October 19 and 20, 2026, at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

The bus features the university’s signature red and black colours alongside the slogan “The Future Is Here.” The institution said the acquisition would strengthen its transport capacity while enhancing its visibility as it makes final preparations for the milestone event.

The two-day graduation will bring together students completing their studies, families, university administrators and invited dignitaries. Proceedings on Monday will feature graduands from the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Health Sciences, while Tuesday’s ceremony will recognise students from the Faculty of Business and Management and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Both sessions are scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m.

Led by Vice Chancellor Professor Lawrence Muganga, Victoria University promotes a student-focused learning model that combines academic instruction with practical workplace experience. Under this approach, graduates receive a Work-Integrated Learning Transcript alongside their conventional academic qualifications, documenting their industry projects, professional competencies and practical skills.

The university, also known by the slogan “University of You,” offers academic programmes in areas such as law, pharmacy, nursing, business, journalism, tourism, agriculture and education, alongside diploma and postgraduate courses.

The institution says its emphasis on practical learning is intended to equip graduates with skills relevant to the employment market and professional practice.

The 10th graduation ceremony will mark the completion of years of academic work for the graduands, while providing an opportunity for the university to showcase its programmes and approach to higher education.
