Key suspect in murder of UCU staff Pamela Tumwebaze appears in court

MUKONO.

Hussein Dak Taewaiko, the suspect in the murder of Uganda Christian University Director of Students Affairs Ms Pamela Tumwebaze has today , Friday afternoon, appeared in Mukono Magistrates Court.

On Thursday, security agencies plus the suspect reconstructed the crime scene where Taewaiko demonstrated how he accessed the deceased’s home.
He revealed that there were wage arrears of Shs800,000 that Tumwebaze had not cleared and wanted his pay. He is likely to face murder charges .

Tumwebaze was attacked and strangled to death while she had slept inside her bedroom last week.

Her death has sent shock waves through the UCU community and beyond, with students, staff, and residents expressing grief and outrage over the tragic incident.

Tumwebaze was surviving with two sons and was also planning to remarry soon, but her life was cut short by heartless assailants .

Taewaiko,who is connected to the murder was arrested from his hideout in Budaka District, where he was found in possession of some of the deceased’s property
Tumwebaze was laid to rest on Sunday, February 15th, in Mbarara District.
