KAMPALA.
The Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has warned the security agencies against what he described as the continued siege of the home of Robert Kyagulanyi, the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Speaking to the media at NUP headquarters in Kavule ,Kampala on Thursday , Ssenyonyi called on security agencies to immediately vacate Kyagulanyi’s residence, arguing that the deployment has no legal justification.
“His home is not a crime scene. Security should vacate it,” Ssenyonyi said.
He added that if authorities have any concerns or allegations against Kyagulanyi, they should pursue them through lawful means rather than surrounding his home. Security agencies have pitched camp at Bobi Wine’s home in Magere ,Wakiso District since January 16 when he sneaked out and hid at unknown location . He said he was life was danger after the disputed January 15 Presidential Election where he came second after the incumbent Yoweri Museveni ,81 was declared winner to extend his tenure in office to 45 years .

Ssenyonyi emphasized the need for security agencies to operate within the law and respect the rights of citizens.
The opposition leader’s remarks come amid reports of heightened security presence around Kyagulanyi’s residence, a development that has drawn criticism from some opposition figures.
Kyagulanyi, a former presidential candidate and leading opposition figure, has previously raised concerns about security deployments around his home, which he says restrict his movement and those of his family members.
Government and security officials had not commented on Ssenyonyi’s remarks by the time of publication.
