Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn has held a high-level meeting with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House Entebbe, in a visit aimed at strengthening cooperation in leadership development and military affairs.
Lt. Gen. Flynn, who previously served as Director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency and National Security Advisor, is in Uganda at the invitation of the Chief of Defence Forces, Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed regional security dynamics and explored ways to enhance military-to-military collaboration between Uganda and the United States. The discussions highlighted the importance of continued cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges and building institutional capacity.
Lt. Gen. Flynn expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him during his stay, describing Uganda as a strategic partner in fostering stability in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Gen. Muhoozi and Uganda’s Ambassador to the United States, Robie Kakonge.
Prior to the State House engagement, Lt. Gen. Flynn held a private meeting with Gen. Muhoozi and was later honored at a dinner hosted in his recognition at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
He also delivered a lecture to senior officers of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, where he emphasized that effective leadership is built on strong character, courage, and a clear strategic vision.
Gen. Muhoozi described the visit as a significant step toward deepening relations, noting that it marks the beginning of a meaningful partnership between Uganda’s military leadership and Lt. Gen. Flynn.
