The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has called for national dialogue and reconciliation following the election period, emphasizing the need for unity to foster socio-economic development.

In his Eid message marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the Kabaka urged Ugandans to embrace peace and cooperation as the country moves forward after the elections.

The message was delivered on his behalf by the Buganda Kingdom Minister for Information, Oweek Osbert Musoke Kazibwe Kitooke, at Bulange Mengo.

The Kabaka congratulated citizens for successfully going through the election season and called on leaders who were elected into office to honor their commitments to the electorate. He also encouraged the government to promote inclusive dialogue and reconciliation as a foundation for sustainable development.

In addition, the Kabaka cautioned young people against the misuse of social media, urging them to use digital platforms responsibly. He noted that while social media has many benefits, it should be used in ways that contribute positively to personal growth and national progress.
