Hojlund, Garnacho, and Fernandes Shine in Commanding Win
Manchester United Secure Dominant 3-0 Victory Over Leicester City continuing their strong run of form with a convincing 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Bruno Fernandes played a crucial role in the win, contributing to two goals before sealing the triumph with a stunning finish.
United’s Attacking Trio End Goal Droughts
United’s attacking duo of Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho were both looking to end their goal droughts, and they succeeded in style. Christian Eriksen came close early on, striking the post with a curling effort, before Hojlund broke the deadlock with a composed finish after running through on goal.
Garnacho thought he had his moment in the second half, only to see his goal ruled out by a late offside flag. However, he quickly made amends, converting after a deflected pass from Fernandes to double United’s lead. The victory was capped off when Fernandes curled home a third, showcasing his quality once again.

Amorim Admits Energy Concern Despite Victory
United boss Ruben Amorim acknowledged that his team showed signs of fatigue despite the comfortable win. Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, he said:
“I felt we had a lack of energy, but that is normal after so many games. The players gave everything, and we scored three goals. I think we should be better at defending our box, but after a tough run of matches, they performed well.”
On Hojlund and Garnacho’s performances, he added:
“The most important thing for me is the work they are putting in, especially in defense. They live for assists and scoring goals, and both deserved their goals today.”
Amorim also provided an update on teenage defender Ayden Heaven, who was stretchered off in the first half:
“We have to evaluate him during the week. He’s a young kid and doesn’t know how to explain what he’s feeling, so it is hard for us to know the full extent right now.”

Fernandes Demands Continued Progress
Bruno Fernandes reflected on the win, emphasizing the need for continued improvement as United chase a strong finish to the season. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
“It was very important for us to get the job done today. We knew Leicester were fighting for points, so we had to be at our best. In the first half, we made too many mistakes in transition, but we controlled the game much better in the second half and got the goals we needed.”
He added:
“This progress has to go on and on because the upcoming games are very important.”
Leicester’s Woes Continue as Relegation Looms
Leicester City’s struggles persisted as they failed to find the back of the net for a sixth consecutive match. Jamie Vardy had a rare early chance but failed to trouble United goalkeeper Andre Onana. Despite their efforts to fight back, they were met with a resilient United defense, with Matthijs de Ligt making a crucial block to deny Facundo Buonanotte.
With a daunting trip to Manchester City after the international break, Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy faces an uphill battle to salvage the Foxes’ season. The club now sits in a precarious position, and a drastic turnaround is needed to avoid relegation.
United Building Momentum
With back-to-back wins following their midweek Europa League success, Manchester United are beginning to build the momentum they need to finish the season strongly. As key players find their form, Amorim’s side will be eager to continue their winning streak and climb higher up the Premier League table.
