Uganda’s investment and tourism sector has received a significant boost following the official commissioning of the luxurious Bamus Sarovar Portico Hotel by former Minister of State for Investment and Privatization, Evelyn Anite, in Kampala.

The grand commissioning ceremony attracted government officials, business leaders, hospitality stakeholders, and invited guests who gathered to witness the opening of what is expected to become one of Kampala’s premier hospitality destinations.

Speaking during the event, Anite applauded the hotel proprietor, businessman Mr. Badru Muwanga, for investing heavily in Uganda’s hospitality industry and contributing towards the country’s economic transformation through local investment.

In a message shared after the ceremony, Anite expressed excitement over the increasing number of Ugandan entrepreneurs embracing government incentives aimed at boosting investment and industrial growth.

“Today I officially commissioned a five-star hotel called Bamus Sarovar Portico owned by one of our serious local investors Mr. Badru. What I liked is Ugandans are now starting to enjoy the 10-year tax holidays,” Anite noted.

She congratulated Mr. Badru Muwanga upon the achievement, describing the investment as a strong vote of confidence in Uganda’s economy, tourism sector, and business environment.

Located along Gaddafi Road behind Ham Towers Shopping Mall and within walking distance of Makerere University, the upscale and contemporary hotel places guests at the heart of Kampala’s commercial, educational, and cultural hub. The strategic location provides convenient access to government offices, shopping centers, corporate establishments, and major tourist attractions, making it an ideal destination for both business and leisure travelers.

The hotel features 90 spacious and elegantly designed rooms and suites categorized into Standard Rooms, Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, and Executive Suites. Guests are offered a variety of dining experiences through Flavours all-day dining restaurant, Bake & Brew café, and a 24-hour in-room dining service tailored to suit different tastes and preferences.

For business travelers and event organizers, the hotel offers seven versatile conference and banquet venues equipped with modern audio-visual technology, high-speed internet, and flexible seating arrangements. The facilities can host intimate meetings of 15 guests as well as large conferences, weddings, and social functions accommodating up to 300 people.

A dedicated team of event specialists ensures smooth planning and flawless execution of events, from customized décor to curated menus, positioning the hotel as a major conferencing and events destination in Kampala.

Guests at the hotel can also enjoy wellness and recreational facilities including a fully equipped gym, cycling studio, spa, and salon, all designed to provide relaxation and comfort during their stay.

Leaders at the commissioning ceremony noted that investments in high-end hospitality facilities not only create employment opportunities for Ugandans but also strengthen the country’s ability to host international conferences, tourists, investors, and business travelers.

The new hotel is expected to contribute significantly to Kampala’s rapidly growing hospitality industry while enhancing Uganda’s profile as a competitive tourism and investment destination in the East African region.

During the launch, Anite, accompanied by other dignitaries, toured the newly opened facility and commended the hotel’s modern design, quality standards, and warm hospitality.

Bamus Sarovar Portico Hotel management emphasized that the facility is committed to offering guests an unparalleled hospitality experience marked by refined accommodation, exceptional dining, personalized service, and world-class amenities.

“Whether visiting Kampala for business, conferences, celebrations, or leisure, guests are assured of comfort, convenience, elegance, and memorable experiences,” hotel officials noted.

With its blend of sophistication, comfort, and personalized hospitality, Bamus Sarovar Portico Hotel is expected to become a preferred destination for travelers seeking luxury and convenience in the heart of Uganda’s bustling capital city.
