The United Kingdom hosted buyers and travel trade delegation touring Uganda ahead of the upcoming Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo 2026 (#POATE2026) have continued to discover the country’s unmatched tourism treasures, this time experiencing the breathtaking beauty of Murchison Falls National Park after an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Uganda, the UK hosted buyers believed they had already witnessed Uganda’s finest while exploring the misty highlands of Bwindi and encountering the endangered mountain gorillas. However, Uganda still had another spectacular experience waiting for them in the north at the country’s largest and most iconic national park.

As the sun rose over the vast savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park, the delegation embarked on an early morning game drive that unveiled the extraordinary wildlife diversity that continues to position Uganda among Africa’s leading safari destinations.

The golden plains came alive with towering Rothschild giraffes gracefully roaming the grasslands, herds of elephants grazing peacefully, antelopes scattered across the savannah, and predators stealthily moving through the wilderness. The visitors were treated to the raw beauty of nature in one of Africa’s most scenic conservation areas.

The highlight of the tour was witnessing the mighty River Nile forcefully squeezing through a narrow seven-meter gorge before plunging 45 meters below to create the world-famous and powerful Murchison Falls. The thunderous roar of the falls and the mist rising above the gorge left many of the visitors amazed by Uganda’s natural wonders.

The familiarisation trip is part of Uganda’s broader tourism promotion efforts aimed at marketing the country to international travel buyers and strengthening tourism partnerships between Uganda and the United Kingdom ahead of #POATE2026.

Uganda continues to market itself as the “Pearl of Africa,” offering tourists a unique combination of mountain gorillas, wildlife safaris, diverse bird species, rich culture, and breathtaking landscapes within relatively short travel distances.

The ongoing hosted buyers’ tour is expected to increase Uganda’s visibility in the UK tourism market and create new opportunities for travel trade partnerships, destination marketing, and increased tourist arrivals to the country.

Officials say experiences such as gorilla tracking in Bwindi and wildlife encounters in Murchison Falls National Park demonstrate Uganda’s exceptional tourism diversity, making the country one of Africa’s most complete and authentic travel destinations.
