The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) has attained three internationally recognised ISO certifications, reinforcing its commitment to quality management, environmental responsibility, and workplace health and safety.
The certifications — ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems — were granted following an extensive independent audit conducted by LMS Certification Services, a globally accredited certification body.
According to the assessment, UNOC’s management systems comply with internationally accepted standards and best practices in operational quality, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety.

The achievement represents a significant step for both UNOC and Uganda’s petroleum sector as the country moves closer to achieving First Oil. It demonstrates that the national oil company has established management frameworks that align with global industry expectations.
The certifications underscore UNOC’s dedication to sound corporate governance, operational efficiency, and sustainable business practices. They also highlight the company’s ongoing efforts to maintain systems that support high-quality service delivery, environmental stewardship, and the wellbeing of employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
ISO 9001:2015 recognises UNOC’s ability to consistently provide services through structured and continually improving processes. ISO 14001:2015 validates the company’s approach to managing environmental impacts and reducing associated risks, while ISO 45001:2018 confirms its commitment to ensuring safe and healthy working conditions across its operations and facilities.
